The calculator deliberately answers a narrow question: what would specified energy cost at one price per kWh? A household bill answers a broader question across every load and supplier rule. Differences are expected when the appliance does not draw constant power or the bill includes components outside per-kWh consumption.
The appliance may not draw rated power continuously
Thermostats, inverter drives, chargers, computers, and motors change power over time. Standby use may continue outside the entered runtime, while startup peaks may be brief. A plug meter or manufacturer cycle-energy figure usually improves the input. Repeat measurements under representative conditions before treating an estimate as typical.
The bill may not be one flat multiplication
Suppliers may use time-of-use rates, consumption tiers, taxes, network charges, fixed monthly fees, credits, or different billing periods. EnergyCost does not infer any of them and never substitutes a regional default. Enter a representative all-in variable rate only if that matches the decision you are making, and consult the tariff for a bill-level forecast.
